Casement Window
An operating style of window with a side-hinged sash that opens from the side either inwards or towards the exterior.

Casing
A flat decorative moulding which covers the inside edge of the jambs and the rough openings between the window unit and the wall.

Caulking
A sealant used to seal construction joints, to prevent water and air infiltration.

Cladding
An aluminum material locked on the outside face of many products to provide a durable, low-maintenance exterior surface.

Condensation
Formation d’humidité sur les surfaces causée par des températures froides, des niveaux élevés d’humidité et une piètre circulation d’air.

Condensation
Formation of moisture on surfaces caused by cold temperatures, high levels of humidity and poor air circulation.

Dormer
A space which protrudes from the roof, usually including one or more windows.

Double Glazing
Use of two panes of glass in a window to increase energy efficiency ard provide other performance benefits.

Drip Cap (or flashing)
A moulding placed on the top of the head brick mould or casing of a window frame.
